Tupelo

This town is great! the people here as in most of Mississippi are really friendly folks-
i busked out side of Cafe 212 yesterday for lunch, didn't make a bunch a money but people really were appreciative of some weirdo playing banjo music on their sidewalk. the folks at Cafe 212 were especially sweet and hospitable.

my couch surfing host Rufus was a huge help in directing me to all the places i could potentially play (as were the the 212 folks). - i botched my pitch at this Italian Bistro down the way, i had it up to a point, but i talked myself right out of it....lesson learned.....

however, today, i'm playing lunch at this place called the Blue Canoe.

last night Sam Bush played a free concert in down town Tupelo, out in front of City Hall on the fair grounds, Sam Bush for free! and to top it off (this is only for banjo geeks but) Scott Vestal was pickin' banjo with him, SCOTT VESTAL! SHRED!!!

the downtown businesses all pitch money in to make these concerts happen. it was a real great vibe out there, relaxed and good spirited. i met a left handed banjo picker last night too, he took pictures of my 1970 RB250, ah more banjo geek stuff. banjo geeks are a very special breed and you just can't understand unless you are one. Much Love Trever!

(the coffee shop owner just walked over and gave me contact info to stay in Nashville- yes, so i've decided to go to Nashville, what hell....)

and no, i haven't gone to see Elvis' BirthShrine yet, and no i don't plan to.
i heard a lot of Elvis growing up and i feel like it had a pretty strong impact on me musically but i'm not going to go worship.
