Old Town Louisville-

d
n

so this is old town Louisville, at least, i think that's what it's called.
this part of town is older than the stuff i shot previously. i've been staying
just outside this neighborhood, with the colourful folks i mentioned in past posts.

the universe seems to be keeping me here, and it now seems to be a joke for
people to ask me when i'm leaving, however i have been scouting out the route
and figuring out where i will stop and choosing alternate stopping points in case
the terrain keeps me from traveling as far as i would over flat country.

i've made some cool friends here- a bunch of folks who live partially outside of convention:
travellers, scavengers, artist and weirdos. my friends at Logan House have
a fridge budging at the seems with food raided from various dumpsters, all stuff that
is really too good to through away but because of silly societal demands it has to be.
but that's cool because my money is low and the food is free. this was part of my plan to begin with, but i ended blowing off the idea of dumpstering food because i felt like it was easier just to go somewhere and buy it, which i suppose it is, but it certainly isn't cheap.

because of privacy issues i felt like i wouldn't use alot of people's names in this blog, however, this is the best way, i think, to make sure i remember these folks- and i also keep forgetting to shoot pics when they are around- but the first guy i stayed with, Nathan, is someone i've kept in touch with while in town (his housemate John is super cool and friends with one of my favorite Austin People, Jessy May), then there's Vinnie, who's house i'm at but who is currently in Nevada, and then we have his housemates, Annabel, Candra, Alex, the other guy (the normal guy) who's name i don't remember and Mort and Stevie, who don't really live here and then there's a host of folks who are always coming over to game or sit in the living room and read- no shit. and then there's the dogs: Noddles, Shady, Trooper and ...oops, i forgot Candra's dog's name.... the folks over at Logan House (which is on Logan st.) are Peter (he's my favorite), Logan, Jordon (the dumpster fairy), Simon, Tyler (brooding train hopper), Desert (cutest little lady ever), and theirs more of them, too many to count let alone name. oh yeah, Scotty another adorable little lady, she doesn't live at Logan House, but i'm just putting her in that category- she's part of the crew non the less.

So apart from that crew we have Brice who i stayed with for a couple of days, we have a mutual friend in Austin, then there's Holly, we also have a mutual friend in Austin. then there's Joe From the Monkey Wrench. these people have helped me out in some way and have made me feel like i belong here, half of them are insisting that i will stay or that i will come back. i will definitely come back. these folks should come to Austin as well.

i've spent the most time with Annabel, Candra and Stevie. and i have strong feeling of friendship toward Peter (he reminds me of my ugly fiddle playing friend back in Austin, only not ugly.) Simon and Jordon and Tyler are all folks i want to keep in touch with.

oh jeez, i forgot the neighbors, i forgot the fella's name but his girlfriend Camilla is rad and gave me the best tip when she told me about Worldfest!

Don Watson, who i always converse with at the coffee shop and still more folks....

this is a really cool town, and picturesque all be it a bit smelly, it's going to be difficult to leave here, although, as indicated earlier, the story is not over.....

so now, i have some friends back home who i'm thinking about because they are dealing with wild fires and my heart goes out to them, i wish i could send them some of this damp weather we have up here in Kaintuk, all i can say is good luck to you folks.

and for me soon, it's onward.
