the time of the return is near.....

the return is often an unwanted circumstance-

i'll be leaving Asheville in a week or so.... what started out as a questionable sojourn has turned out to be a wonderful experience- all in all, i knew that things would work out but if you may recall, my advent here in Asheville was somewhat less than auspicious...

i came here from there to break the bubble, to enter outside the comfort zone and learn to thrive in the open air. i came here to sink and swim. now if i look around me, i have a good group of people to be associated with, i have made good friends.

i'd rather travel forever and some have told me i may, and i may if i might....
however, i shall be returning to Austin soon, returning to, in a sense, the jumping off point, yet i shall never see the jumping off point again, for that place is too far behind me now...

i have what i came here for- i've played music with Kentuckians as well as welded some dear friendships. i've touched so many lives all across the portions of the country i traveled and have been touched deeply by the peoples and experiences.

upon landing in Asheville NC, a new musical education and sharing started, i have been an avid street performer and that alone has changed my music, but working among the amazing community of street performers here has also changed me. these folks work with in (and are) a beautiful and supportive community. i have found super talented people to play Klezmer, Bluegrass, Old Time with and have started educating myself on jazz progressions as a result of gettin' mixed up in some gypsy jazz jams...

i've walked through so many doorways on this journey and have pin pointed more to enter in the future- i stand at the edge, ready to jump, to take flight, the mountain continues to call to me even as the rich river lands gather the slack on the chords of my soul, the woman in the woods sees my impending arrival and i see our destines shall meet. i can do anything now.
